What is SOLARHOOK?

Many Solarud customers comment to us that when the modules are on a high roof and installed up near the end of the roof where the roof meets the vertical building line, it is very difficult and dangerous without the proper safety and IPE to be able to clip the Solarud to these modules.

Therefore, we developed the Solarhook, as the name implies it is an accessory where you attach a Solarud Nextgen or Custom unit and the accessory can be mounted on any telescopic pole or vault that is compatible with a 3/4″ screw mount (one of the most common on the market).

The Solarhook is made in a bright orange colour to be easily visible from a distance and this makes clipping easier and more accurate.

As you can see in the photos, the Solarhook grabs the Solarud unit by its two triangular interfaces at the ends of the unit and at the bottom, when it snaps onto the solar power unit, you simply push down on the telescopic dome/pole and it releases the Solarud unit automatically. The force of the scissors is much greater than the force needed to “unhook” the Solarhook from the Solarud unit. Here is an example of how to use it and how it can help you avoid dangerous situations.

The Solarhook can be reused many times. However, it is a consumable that wears out over time.

PS: The Solarhook is simply intended to be used with Solarud NextGEN and Solarud CUSTOM. Solarud NANO should not be cut with Solarhook for obvious reasons.
